Children Peace Prayer Program
On the theme " Children's Hope for Everlasting Peace "
Organised by
Bikalpa Children Peace Program
The Children Peace Prayer is a regular program of Children Peace Program of Bikalpa Gyan Tatha Bikas Kendra. This time too children come together for a candlelighting program and wish that peace be everlasting in the country . Children light the candles with hope for peace because
“Children are our future. The future of humanity depends on children. They are the most precious resource of the country.”
When the whole country was waged under the difficult situation of violence , children became the most affected ones. They became the " silent sufferers".
Today we gather together to join hands and pray that in days to come children will live in a peaceful environment with security, dignity and love. We pray that no threats will harm their overall developments. We wish for peace to remain forever in our hearts and in our souls.
The information sheet provided to children read this way. No wonder everybody were compelled to rethink about re-establishing peace in the country. This day was December 11th 2006, when Bikalpa organised children Peace Prayer Program by 134 children in Mandala Park.
It began with a minute of silence for the children who became victims of this decade long conflict. Then children themselves gave small speeches about their hope for peace. Bishwas Dahal of Voice of Children, Nepal said," Today we are here to hope for a better future for children like us and light candles for peace. I would like to say that children who should be protected include not only school children but also street children like us. But lets hope that we will get to live in a country which promises us peace and security."Nima Lama, of Bikalpa Gyan Tatha Bikas Kendra said," I would like to welcome everyone who are here. Today is a day to wish that peace be everlasting in the country. So I would like to request everyone to wish for peace from their heart and light the candles."Seven children form different schools and children organisations gave little speeches. Then the candle lighting program began. One could see that by half an hour the Mandala was covered with lots of candles. This was their hope for everlasting peace in the country. |
