The Child Day Care Centre, which is in the kindergarten section of Bhrikuti Secondary School is one of the five centres. Our girls go to the child care centre everyday. There they are taught to look after little kids. They feed the children, play with the children and mostly take care of the children. They also teach children to play with different toys.
Keeping in mind that girls are future mothers, we kept this centre to teach them to take care of children. So that even back in their village they will be able to facilitate a day care centre and make a livelihood for themselves.
" We learn by doing. Here we are glad to make them learn how to take care of children. Every women has an innate quality of nursing and taking care of children. This is nothing new but it is really necessary to teach healthy way of bringing up children," says the teacher of playgroup.
" Our Bikalpa's Didi (sister) comes here everyday. She plays with us, makes us drink water and put us to sleep. We also sing songs and play, we like her," says little Koshish when asked how do Bikalpa didis take care of you.
Little kids are really wonderful to look at. It is indeed a sight. Some busy playing with puzzles, some trying to carry the really big toy pencil, some pulling another's shirt, some playing instruments. How wonderful would it be if kids would stay quietly for a moment!
